This is a graduate class call focus on DNA-Protein interactions, which open to the undergraduate students as long as they have taken biochemistry or molecular biology courses. Each week we will discuss a recent published paper focusing on nucleic acids structure & function as well as central dogma with a topic such as DNA replication, recombination, damage repair, nucleosome modification, control of gene expression...etc. Students are also encouraged to give an oral presentation in the class by choosing one of the assigned papers. During the actual contact hours, I would spend about one hour to present an over view of the subjects that cover the background information of the subjects, and tell students what’s new in the field. During the next two hours, I will present the actual paper and conduct the discussion of the paper. Most of the papers would be chosen from recent published papers in the journals of Nature, Science or Molecular Cell.
